A bit about me - I love to laugh, especially on a Thursday night over a margarita and bowl of chips and salsa. I was born and raised in Northern California, but I’m a New Yorker through and through. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and mom to a 3 year old little girl. My husband and I have moved back and forth across the country five times for school and work, finally landing back in New York, by way of Los Angeles, and man does it feel good to be home after a decade of packing. When I’m not behind the lens I’m executing my day job at a large financial institution. I’m assertive, but laid back; a longtime wearer of converse, enthusiast of Jazz and lover of black and white. I’m here today because I have been practicing documentary style photography for over a decade, and finally felt compelled to take the leap into making my passion a profession.
Hey, I’m Kalin! Like Katelynn, without the T. I’m naturally an observer; an observer of life and light. I’m emotional, nostalgic and optimistic which is maybe what leads me to photography. I’ve found it is in my nature to hone in on the little details. As a mom, that means I can spot the dropped crumb across the room. As a photographer, that means I can spot the way only you, he, she, they - look, move, smile in the fleeting seconds often lost to time. Capturing the goodness which is so often overlooked in the everyday is what makes me tick!
